Pastor Orlando Goodhope is the third of five children born to the late Herman A. Goodhope, while his mother, Gladys M. Goodhope, resides in Norfolk with her youngest daughter Chevelle. His brothers, Carlos and Herman,  live in Georgia and sister Tammy lives in Fredericksburg, Virginia.  He is married to his high school cheerleader, Tonya, and presently resides in Norfolk, Virginia.  Pastor Goodhope  is a graduate of Norview High School in Norfolk, Norfolk State University with a BA Degree in Political Science, and a commissioned 2nd Lieutenant in the United States Army.  He is master certified in General Motors Service and works for Priority Chevrolet of Chesapeake.

Pastor Goodhope is the proud father of five children, Shanardo, Marquita, Galaisha, Danyeal, and Cory.  His Ministry began first with his family during turbulent times in his life.  His servant compassionate spirit has produced great advancement in his personal life and professional career.

Although Pastor Goodhope’s walk with the Lord began at the age of 28, one should never forget his stellar football career, amassing records in high school and college, free-agent tryouts with the Dallas Cowboys, New England Patriots,Canadian Toronto Argonauts, and induction into the Semi-Pro Hall of Fame in 1993.

Pastor Goodhope has focused on his family, ministry, and work advancement for over 26 years.  With over a half million dollars in college scholarships for his children, to being chosen as Senior Pastor of Chesapeake Christian Center, to being rated as a top Automotive Service Writer in the country,  Pastor Goodhope has remained humbled and dedicated to serving God’s people in any capacity.

Pastor Goodhope credits Jesus and his spiritual mentor, Dr.Marvin L.Duke, as the source of his success.He states …”every man needs Jesus and an earthly example to succeed”.  He is always mindful of Genesis 8:22 before he embarks upon any endeavor.
